I guess I'm in a multi-colored mood. If I only had time to knit.

I never liked it the first time around.
Now trying to help with homework problems, it's all becoming clear. I only had to live 40 years or so to get it.
A simple word problem (what is the least number of coins needed to give a customer .42 in change?) stumped the chump last night. A clear case of the classic "Read the problem!"
I had H subtracting .42 from a dollar, then working the coin numbers. I overcomplicated a simple question and confused the hell out of him.
Oh well. As Barbie used to say, "Math is hard!"

She actually cloned a new begonia which the Begonia Society named the Orpha C. Fox in her honor. One greenhouse on the web describes it as: Striking med/large dark leaves with large silver markings on a compact 'Angel Wing'. Almost constant pink flowers. Choice.
I love that use of the word "choice." It reminds me of her, discussing her plants with my mother and aunts.
Here is a shot of my Orpha C. Fox, growing happily in my bedroom window.

Only 11 at the Bend Knit-Up last night, but a nice, happy time. Not sure where everyone was - Monday's not the best night. The Entrelac class is Thursday at my house - should be a fun gathering. I love learning new techniques, even if I have no clue when I'll actually use them. We're getting a socks class together soon - lots of demand for all kinds of topics.
In limbo at work still - no one knows nothing. Things are a little slow, so we're trying to get something going with a new campaign. Seems like the world is in waiting mode right now, or maybe it's me...

I like working with the cotton/elastic yarn (Cascade Fixation) - easy to knit. I'm getting the second sock to where the first one ended so I can put them both on two circulars - new technique! But unfortunately same old stockinette stitch sock. Once I finish these, I'll start on some patterned ones.
I think I say that a lot in my knitting: Once I finish this [interim/forgotten/gift/stash-busting] project, I'll get to the one I really want to do. Hmmm. "Obligation knitting." I'll have to think about that.
Another photo from the trip: ya' think this limo is long enough?

We were all so sad to leave! The last evening was warm and emotional - lots of tears from guys and gals alike, and great stories shared over dinner.

Flying out to Phoenix for the company boondoggle Circle of Excellence Award Trip tomorrow am.
Counting down the days til the FCC approval which is before Day Zero which precedes Day Alpha (globe-speak). Day Zero is the day the acquisition closes, and Day Alpha is the day we open as Big Globe. No clue how we're going to get there or even if my group will be involved.
We're in limbo limbo limbo . . .
Meanwhile, the Himalayan torture wrap is done. Bob seems very drawn to it.
Unfortunately, he really wants to kick and bite it, which I definitely understand.
I have so much more of this yarn. Bag? Pillow? Another wrap for a gift? Because I enjoy yarn torture!
Now I get to decide what the next project will be. I'm almost overwhelmed by the options. I do need to finish the sock Mom started, so that will be my "TV knitting." I also need a completely mindless stockinette project for the Knit-Up, like Cindy's Homespun poncho. And it all needs to come from stash, as I'm determined to destash this year. I want to cable the Kool Wool, though I also want to start the aran cardigan in the Shetland tweed. But I can't cable at the group, so what to do?
This is a knitter's most exciting moment: planning the next project. It's all downhill from there.

I have got to finish the himalayan recycled silk ponchette/wrap thing before I fly out on Thursday, and hem a dress. So here I am writing about it rather than doing it all. Maybe by putting these words in print I'll shame myself into getting going.
The Knit-Up last night ended up at my house due to last minute mixups, but it was great. Instant party! I turned on every light in the room and it seemed to work. We had wonderful cheese and wine. Oh, and we knit some too. Everyone enjoyed it and I'm leaning perilously toward offering my house regularly. At least it will get me to vacuum occasionally. . .
